PLENARY SESSION 1 SPEAKER and FOOD SAFETY PANEL
IMPI’s first Plenary Session speaker is Dr. Paul Hall, President, AIV Microbiology and Food Safety Consultants, LLC who will address whether the steps taken by industry to assure the microbiological safety of microwavable NRTE foods is enough.
IMPI announces an important first: The Food Safety Panel. The safety of microwaved foods is of increasing concern to consumers and the government. The potential for food-borne illness has become especially important due to the advent of Not-Ready-to-Eat (NRTE) microwavable products. The panel consists of representatives of the USDA-FSIS, the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) and a major food processor.
